Overview
Meraki Recruitment is seeking experienced Project Engineers from E&I and SMP disciplines to support a major brownfield project with a leading EPC contractor
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate E&I and SMP modifications in a brownfield environment, minimising operational disruption
- Deliver engineering scopes safely, efficiently and within budget while meeting regulatory and contractual requirements
- Develop and review technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance and risk management
- Collaborate with design, construction, commissioning and operations teams for seamless project execution
- Ensure compliance with Australian safety, engineering and environmental standards
- Provide technical leadership, troubleshoot challenges and drive cost-effective engineering solutions
- Engage with stakeholders to align expectations, manage risks and resolve engineering issues
- Support commissioning and handover, ensuring tested and verified installations integrate smoothly
- Monitor project progress through inspections, audits and reporting to maintain quality and compliance
About You:
Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Project Engineers
Background & Education:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or a related field.
- Extensive experience in brownfield EPC projects within mining, oil & gas or industrial sectors
- Previous exposure to power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation integration in operational environments
Key Skills & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of electrical power systems, instrumentation and industrial control systems, particularly in brownfield project environments
- Strong experience with PLC, SCADA and DCS systems, including configuration, troubleshooting and commissioning in operational sites
- Proven ability to manage electrical compliance and safety requirements, including hazardous area classifications, high-voltage (HV) systems and regulatory standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to develop and implement cost-effective engineering solutions within brownfield constraints
- Experience leading engineering scopes in EPC environments, working across design, construction and commissioning phases
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills with a track record of liaising effectively with clients, contractors and operations teams to align project deliverables and reporting expectations
Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) Engineers
Background & Education:
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering
- Strong experience in brownfield modifications, working within the resources, energy or infrastructure sectors
- Previous experience in structural integrity assessments, mechanical installations and piping system upgrades
Key Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) engineering within brownfield project environments
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment and structural modifications, particularly in the mining, oil and gas or heavy industrial sectors
- Proven ability to manage compliance with Australian engineering standards, including ASME, API and AS/NZS codes
- Skilled in assessing structural integrity, piping stress and mechanical system performance in brownfield settings, with a problem-solving approach
- Experience leading engineering scopes in EPC environments, coordinating across design, construction and commissioning to ensure seamless project execution
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, working closely with clients, contractors and operations teams
